Why Vietnam should be Your Next Travel Destination

Vietnam is one of the fastest-growing tourism destinations in Southeast Asia, and for good reason. While it’s on an upward trend, Vietnam has somehow managed to remain its completely authentic self. With a captivating history, dramatic landscapes, and a street food scene that will enthrall you; Vietnam should be at the top of everyone’s travel list.

Why Vietnam Should be Your Next Travel Destination

Candy for the eyes making it the perfect choice for your next travel destination…

Vietnam boasts astonishing landscapes, including eight different UNESCO sites. These are sites of great significance and protected by the UN Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization. Home to unbelievable nature and cityscapes alike. Vietnam should be your next trip, let me count the ways.

Vietnam UNESCO Sites                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      ‘

Where to go in Vietnam…

The entire town of Hoi An is regarded as one of Vietnam’s best sites. Only a short 30-minute journey from the big city lights of Danang. Loaded with charming cobblestone streets, markets, and floating lights all along the water; it is a true fairy tale experience. Vietnam transports travelers back in time as it has been perfectly preserved to capture exactly what a busy southeast Asian trading port would have been between the 15th and 19th centuries.

A 4-hour journey from Hanoi will bring you to the infamous Halong Bay. You’ll come eye to eye with the striking limestone mountains that jut out of the turquoise water. Previously home to the largest ancient fishing village ever discovered in Vietnam, it is now accessible to travelers. On your journey, you may be lucky enough to come across modern-day fishing villages and boats that still exist in the UNESCO site. Although many nomadic travelers typically shy away from cruises, that is not the case in Halong Bay. Even the most off the beaten path travelers highly recommend joining a cruise on these waters. After all, it is the best way to truly witness everything this beautiful place has to offer from right in the middle of the water. Hosting unparalleled views from your own bed and kayaking excursions during the day, it is the absolute best way to fully experience this vivid landscape.

Culture in Vietnam…

Street food scene in Vietnam would be enough of a reason to jump on a flight to Asia right now, even if the country offered nothing else (although that is clearly not the case). Walking through the streets of Vietnam at night will offer you a passage into an alternate universe from western culture. Each street is jam-packed with tiny tables and chairs with delicious smells wafting around every corner. Here, the walkway for passersby is far less important than being able to accommodate the giant groups of friends and family gathering at each street food stand. Locals, and travelers alike, come together and stay together in the early morning. Whether you’re craving pho, do it yourself barbeque, or cha cha you can find it here. Sweet and savory flavors come together in giant stockpots with family recipes that date back centuries, all sold for around $2 a serving. Using the crowds and smells as your compass, you will undoubtedly end up at a picnic table in an alleyway eating the best meal of your life. Mic drop. You see why Vietnam should be your next travel destination? I’ll keep going…

Cost in Vietnam…

If food, culture, and history weren’t enough reason; affordability and accessibility top off the reasons everyone should visit this remarkable country. There are few countries that will be as affordable as Vietnam. Whatever route travelers choose to take it will come at an extremely low cost. While hostels run for an average of $5 a night, beautiful private Airbnb’s can run around $25 – $50 a night. Another huge plus to this is that getting around can be so cheap and easy with apps like Uber and Grabtaxi. At such a low cost of living, it makes it so easy to try everything Vietnam has to offer!
