Wild Bum

Meet the Wild Bum Team!

It’s time to meet the peeps behind the scenes here at Wild Bum! We love community and collaboration, and our team is full of vibrant, creative individuals who seek to bring out the best in ourselves and each other. We thought it would be fun to give you a little introduction and let you have a chance to [virtually] meet the Wild Bum team.

As we are all travel lovers and adventurers at heart, we love to meet new people, and like I said, we are all about that community and collaboration. So, feel free to pop on into our inboxes and say hello. We’d love to meet you!

Without further ado, meet the Wild Bum Team…

First up, it’s Mollie.

Mollie is the founder of Wild Bum. She’s the brains behind the brand and the reason that Wild Bum exists. Though she’d never take the credit, because she is also the most humble human being ever! She has contagious energy and killer dance moves and she’s the ultimate cheerleader for everyone on this team.

What is one of your must pack items that you can’t live without on a trip?

DARK CHOCOLATE! Yep 😉 Usually combined with a nut!

Where is your favorite place you have ever been?

SO SO HARD. With the hubs, Thailand + Cambodia. With the kids, Kenya! On the women’s retreats, I curate and guide, it’s a tie between El Salvador and Colombia.

Before you die you want to go to ____.

Gorilla Trekking in Uganda!!!! CANNOT.WAIT.

What do you do on a plane?

Watch movie after movie after movie! For me, my adventure starts at the airport, and being in a plane is the only place where I can manage to sit still, LOL!

If you could travel anywhere with anyone in the world, past or present, who would it be and where would you go?

I spend some time traveling and learning with Jane Goodall. Then hit the globe as a backup dancer & close bud to JT (i.e. Justin Timberlake) and finally – I am kind of obsessed with Zoe Kravitz – I feel like she’d be a super cool friend to bum around with!

Next, it’s Sam (#1)

Sam is our social media guru. Her motto is be kind and make cool sh*t, and it’s a motto that after knowing her for about 5 seconds, you can see that she lives by whole-heartedly. She’s an idea generator and a do-er of all things. Seriously, she does it all people! Need proof? See what she is up to right here!

What is one of your must pack items that you can’t live without on a trip?

My camera!

Where is your favorite place you have ever been?

Oaxaca City. I’ve been twice and I’ll go back again!

Before you die you want to go to ____.

The list is long! But I would love to go to Norway to see the area my Grandma is from.

What do you do while flying on a plane?

All the movies! I don’t watch much tv or many movies at home so this is the time I catch up on all the hot trendy movies!

If you could travel anywhere with anyone in the world, past or present, who would it be and where would you go?

I would go with my grandma, pre Alzheimer’s, to visit Frida Kahlo’s home in Mexico City. I have been to her home, but I would love to go back in time to when my grandma would have enjoyed it and been excited about the adventure and seeing where our favorite, Frida, lived.

Then, there’s Josie

Josie is our Pinterest and email marketing genius. She’s creative, strategic, and full of what seems like never-ending ideas! She has a brain full of knowledge that she brings not only to this team, but to her full-time business, Lucky Bee Creative.

What is your favorite kind of travel bag/suitcase?

My Away carry-on and the matching backpack that goes with it! That way I can slide the backpack onto the handle when I’m walking around the airport. I prefer to travel light and usually don’t check a bag.

Where is your favorite place you have ever been?

Glacier National Park, where I got married 😉 see her post (and the amazing photos) all about it right here!

What is one of your must pack items that you can’t live without on a trip?

My TSA precheck status. Not a tangible thing, but it was worth every penny—it’s saved me from missing a few flights.

What is your favorite road trip snack?

Twizzlers nibs. I don’t like normal Twizzlers, but these were a staple while going on road trips with my family and I love them!

What do you do while flying on a plane?

Listen to My Favorite Murder podcasts and also go through my phone’s camera roll to delete old photos. Those meme screenshots stack up!

Finally, there’s Sam (#2)

That’s me! I manage the blog and guest posting. I am a people person who loves to talk and write and well, communicate in any fashion. I love meeting new people and collaborating on big, creative ideas! Oh, and I live to travel (mostly solo) and hopefully inspire others to do the same by sharing my experiences.

What is one of your must pack items that you can’t live without on a trip?

A journal/notebook! I am always jotting down my thoughts and feelings about things I am doing + seeing. It’s so fun to look back on them years later and be transported back to that moment in time. Plus, travel sparks inspiration for me, so I never want to be without a notepad in case an idea strikes!

What do you love to eat/drink at the airport?

COFFEE. I always have to get a coffee when I’m at the airport, no matter what time of the day it is.

Where is your favorite place you have ever been?

Hands down, Thailand. All in all I have spent about a year of my life there and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. A large portion of my heart is still there! The people, the culture, the landscapes, the food… I seriously love everything about that country. If it wasn’t SO far from home there’s a good chance I’d be living there forever.

Before you die you want to go to ____.

Ideally, I will go everywhere before I die 😉 but if I had to choose one place that I really hope to go to someday it would be Bhutan. It can be difficult and expensive to travel to because they are reserved about allowing too many foreigners into the country and they have pretty strict rules about who can visit. I would love to experience the rich Buddhist culture and beautiful landscapes there!

BIG shoutout to our lovely photographer and all-around awesome human: Kaylee LaMoine.
