What to pack

Hiking boots

As you can imagine, there is no shortage of hikes to do in Zion. So, a good and sturdy pair of your favorite hiking boots is a must pack item!

Hiking poles

You might also want to consider a set of hiking poles for your hikes as well.

Rain jacket or poncho

While Utah doesn’t see much rain, it’s always a good idea to pack a light, waterproof jacket or poncho, for the occasions when it does! It can also cool down significantly in the mornings and evenings, so the extra layer is nice to have!

Sunscreen

Protect your skin! The Utah sun is HOT. You will definitely not want to forget your sunscreen!

Backpack (daypack)

A small daypack is a great item to have for hiking to carry all your things, like the sunscreen, jacket, water, and hiking gear!

Water bottle or if you can, a hydration pack is even better.

It’s recommended that you bring a ½ gallon of water with you on a hike, and if you’re doing strenuous activities you might want even more.

Adventure hat or simply a baseball cap

Another protector from the sun, a hat is simply a must for the midday heat.
