Mexico is an amazing and diverse country and one of my favorite places. I used to live in Mexico and go back every year to various parts of the country. This is the first of a series of guides for Mexico that I am making. This one focuses on the Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit region on the west coast of Mexico. Whether you're a foodie, love to explore the outdoors or just want to beach bum- there is something here for everyone!

Guide Highlights

Puerto Vallarta- a small city on Mexico's Pacific coast lined with cobblestone streets and white wash buildings with red tile roofs.
Punta Mita- a luxury retreat tucked in between the Sierra Madre mountains and the golden sand beaches.

Sayulita- a laid back bohemian town filled with artists and surfers.
This guide makes it easy! With everything from what region would be best for you, places to stay, eat, things to do and much more!

In this guide I go over my favorite parts of this region including Puerto Vallarta, Punta Mita and Sayulita. Everything from recommended hotels, bungalows, resorts or villa rentals to my favorite food spots. Whether you're on a budget and want the local taco joint or you want a special night out for a celebration I covered all the bases! This region has something for everyone- want a seaside city filled with history, boutiques and foodie spots - head to Puerto Vallarta. Looking for something more low key? Head to Sayulita and try surfing, hike in the rain-forest or help release baby sea turtles into the wild! If relaxing is your thing try a luxury resort or villa rental in Punta Mita and spend time enjoying the gorgeous scenery and beaches.
