About the location

Alaska. The Last Frontier. It was as incredible as we had imagined. The scenery is breathtaking. From the Prince William Sound to Glaciers and lush rainforest. Alaska has it all. Wildlife sightings, peace & quiet - this will be a trip your family will remember forever. Our route took us a little off the beaten path - from Anchorage to McCarthy/Kennicott to Valdez to Whittier/Seward to Girdwood. We loved it so much, we highly recommend this super easy loop. Some areas of Alaska - especially near Denali - get so busy! We hit Talkeetna (closest town to Denali) for a few hours and were very glad that we saw incredible areas of Alaska without the crowds!!

Guide Highlights

Hiking Root Glacier in St. Elias Wrangell Natl. Park

Hiking on a glacier is one of the coolest experiences of our lives! It was neat to see a glacier, but even better to be on one!

The Alaska Marine Highway

We took our car on the ferry and spent five hours between Valdez to Whittier taking in the views from the stunning Prince William Sound.
