About the location

I won't lie to you (it's a curse and a blessing), Toronto was not on my travel bucket list. I actually have like 900 places I wanted to go before Toronto.

But I will tell you this. I'm glad I bumped this unsuspectingly hip city up on my list because it was totally fun and incredibly easy. It fit right into a weekend so seamlessly, it bothered me that I hadn't gone here before.

I'm American, so Canada is my neighbor. And you know, neighbors can be a touchy subject - they share the same ground as you but have a totally different street perspective. However, if you put just a little bit of effort into getting to know them, they could end up being your best friend.

Through my new best friendship (literally, like no effort for this friendship), I found a whole new world of architecture, fashion, food, and nature. There is no such thing as one culture here - everyone is included and everyone is celebrated. Toronto is approachable, stylish and can give you some really great insights as to how the rest of the world lives. Can you ask for a better friend?

I'm going to talk Canada up in my guide because that's what friends do. So if you're into some bragging sprinkled with a little advice tuck into this guide and start planning your trip to Toronto!

WALKING TOUR

Right, so I take you on a metaphorical walk through Toronto. If you didn't assume that, well...

POUTINE WHAT?

Okay Quebec, step aside. Every street in Toronto has amazing food to offer, so put another notch in your belt and get to tastin'.
